New narrative (do you like the tone of voice?)

Bracket is a bunch of recent graduates, who believe that sticking together was the best thing that happened after college.

At Bracket, you'll find creative folks from all over the world. We're a multi-cultural, London-based group, committed to producing highly skilled intelligent design. We like to think that we are well equipped to take on the challenges of today's very demanding creative industry.

The name 'Bracket' comes from being a community that embraces and makes things special (even to the smallest details). We are an approachable lot, quick to listen and ready to act.

Here's our approach:

You have a problem. We talk about it and show our ideas.
Your problem becomes an opportunity!
We give you solutions, you love them and you pick one.
We make it happen, and it works (you love us!).

We send you the bill. You send us the cheque.
We love you (and we invite you for parties).

The brief

Hi guys,

Just coming back to the brief again, I realise that we need to put in words our brand position. I'm gonna work on an initial narrative, and maybe we can all edit it together. What do you think?

3) Narrative – this a succinct, written communication of the

‘brand position’ (what it is about), which could be consistently

used on materials to engage and encourage new behaviours.

The tone of voice you use is highly important, as you want

your messaging to be clear and simple, not patronising. It is

suggested this is approximately a hundred words or a handful

of statements. Imagine this as the opening statement on the

website or to drive people to a website to find out more."

Painting the Bracket!

The making of the bracket

After a lot of contemplation. We set out to build brackets that we meant to be displayed on the street for a brand buss campaign. The idea was to have a pair of brackets 2 meters high on the street and have people passing by interact with them. As for a scratch idea we will be recording reactions and sending out postcards with out information on them. Where as the idea was to give people camcorders to make their own videos using the brackets on the streets and upload them on to youtube to get rated!
The task however was to build the brackets. The wonderful 3D workshop in college which we were quite unaware of came in the best of our assistance. Gregory the workshop technician was so friendly and helpful too. We figured we could use a 15 cm wide bed of foam board and witch the help of the tools and technicians carve out two 2 metes high brackets. We then found a challenge to make these brackets stand. The whole experience was wonderful and really really exciting and surprisingly smooth!!

Logo Development

Ok, here's what i've done so far, tweaking the logo's details to make it look good...
Below is the development (look from right to left, top to bottom), and the biggest is the final logo that i think is best.
(Tell me what you guys think)

This second one is the small version of the logo.
The thing is, i've applied them both to an envelope, and to me, it actually looks OK on its own (without the box).
What do you guys think?

Wish i had the guts...

Hey guys!
I saw the photos of the styrofoam brackets that you guys managed to make yesterday.
Wanna say, i'm WELL happy that you guys managed to pull it off, and that there were the awesome resources ready to be used!...

also wana say, i wish i had the guts (like you guys did, and still have) to say, 'let's do this!'...
obviously, after having of most the problems solved, i can look back and say, it wasn't that hard really. But, not having the solutions you guys came up with, i think i still wish i had the guts to do it like you guys, so well done!

I've learned a valuable lesson in this project (a well valuable one), that, i need to believe in other people more, and that sometimes, i need to trust other ppl's guts!

Again, Doug & Eleyah, i'm well proud of you guys, and i'm thankful that you guys didn't see me as 'dead weight' to this group with my pessimism and 'reality-check-ness', but instead, were really professional (and nice) to still wanna work together to sort our differences out to our group's benefit.

Thanks

Jason

What is a brand?

Some people distinguish the psychological aspect of a brand from the experiential aspect. The experiential aspect consists of the sum of all points of contact with the brand and is known as the brand experience. The psychological aspect, sometimes referred to as the brand image, is a symbolic construct created within the minds of people and consists of all the information and expectations associated with a product or service.

Brand identity
How the brand owner wants the consumer to perceive the brand - and by extension the branded company, organization, product or service. The brand owner will seek to bridge the gap between the brand image and the brand identity.[2] Brand identity is fundamental to consumer recognition and symbolizes the brand's differentiation from competitors.
